Petro-SealTM multi-layer rotomolding technology enables molders to create low permeation fuel tanks that enable OEMs pass EPA and CARB regulations of today and those to be enacted in the foreseeable future. Further, Petro-SealTM technology works in current molds with no re-design, offering tremendous cost efficiency.
Petro-SealTM Strength Fuel tanks must be tough and ductile. Tanks are often drilled and/or tapped, and metal inserts are commonplace. Tanks made with the bi-layer Petro-SealTM system withstand these rigors, and do not delaminate when tapped, drilled, or when mechanical inserts are installed. They commonly have a peel strength greater than 20 N/cm.
Petro-SealTM Permeability Layer adhesion is critical to ensure low permeation, especially to alcohol containing fuels, and Petro-SealTM technology delivers. Tanks made with the bi-layer Petro-SealTM system meet the low permeation regulations of the EPA and CARB. See how the permeability of Petro-SealTM tanks compare with XLPE in:
