Product Stewardship is an integral part of the American Chemistry Council's Responsible Care® Code of Management Practices. It challenges companies to improve performance throughout a product's life cycle, from "cradle to grave".

Responsible Product Stewardship makes health, safety and environmental protection an integral part of designing, manufacturing, marketing, distributing, using, recycling and disposing of our products. Educating customers about all safety and health aspects of a product means carrying our messages well beyond our plant boundaries. Successful Product Stewardship is a shared responsibility. Everyone involved with the product has responsibilities to address society's interest in a healthy environment and in products that can be used safely. As employers, we are responsible for providing a safe workplace, and everyone who uses and handles our products must follow safe and environmentally sound practices.

At Arkema, we are committed to:
  • Making health, safety and environmental considerations a priority in our planning for all existing and new products and processes.
  • Developing and producing chemicals that can be manufactured, transported, used and disposed of safely.
  • Extending knowledge by conducting or supporting research on the health, safety and environmental effects of our products, processes and waste materials.
  • Reporting promptly to officials, employees, customers and the public, information on chemical-related health or environmental hazards and to recommend protective measures.
  • Promoting the principles and practices of Responsible Care® by sharing experiences and offering assistance to others who produce, handle, use, transport, or dispose of chemicals.
