Confocal Raman Spectroscopy Analysis

Confocal Raman spectroscopy and microscopy analysis allows depth profiling to identify tie layers, adhesive layers, inclusions, and defects.  The analysis can be done without compromising the integrity of the sample, that is, the sample almost always can be analyzed as is and the technique is non-destructive.

At Arkema Analytical Solutions our 2D (x,y) confocal Raman mapping capabilities allow study, for example, of weathering or multiphase systems with spatial resolution as low as 2 microns (µm).  Multipolymer/multilayer film studies by Raman can aid in the understanding of systems typically encountered in packaging, automotive, and/or building industry applications.

The confocal Raman spectroscopy capabilities at Arkema Analytical Solutions can be used to:

  • Understand and refine processing conditions
  • Optimize synthesis procedures
  • Investigate product failures
