Capillary Rheometry In a capillary rheometer shear is generated by a pressure difference over a closed channel. Gravity, compressed gas or a piston are used to generate pressure on the test fluid. The pressure drop and flow rate through a capillary tube are used to determine the fluid's viscosity and other rheological properties.
